Zero to Hero’s – Training Update

The TenFoot Swim and Swim/Run committee would like to share and update from on of our pairs of swimmers Chris and Karina Ebsworth of Folly Farm, not only participants in our event but also signing on board as sponsors to help even more money go to great causes off the back of the TenFoot Swim.

Training update for you😆 – “How’s the training going” asked the Tenfoot team.  “Pretty good” we said.  Despite the usually mad dash to get home from work, grab some food, clean the house and taco the kids we have managed to get quite a few miles in here and there (and with some very strange looks from local dog walkers) have tested out running in wet shoes.

We’ve had lots of help from the lovely Emma Richards at Tenby Leisure Centre who has been putting us to test in the pool during weekly swim fit.   With all the great weather we have dusted off the wetsuits and are preparing to brave the sea over the next few weeks.  But the ultimate goal is to try out a few swim run sessions.  ASAP!

If you would like to join the TenFoot Challenge weekend they have something for all ages and levels of fitness, starting with the FootStep run on the evening of Friday 12th July with a Family Friendly Fun Run with distances for all abilities (Fancy Dress highly encouraged), then Saturday bring the 5k Endurance Swim and at the same time the new 5.5m Swim/Run will be taking place both starting in Tenby and ending in Saundersfoot.

For more information or to get your entry (Entries are limited so early booking is highly recommended) visit www.tenfootswim.co.uk

The committee are also looking for sponsors to help with this year’s event so if you would like to be associated with a great local event, run by locals for the local community and all in the name of charity please make contact.
